KUSN signed on November 6, 1955, broadcasting out of the Robidoux Hotel. In its later years, KUSN shifted in a Top 40 direction.
1968-1979 - KUSN - Country "Kissin' KUSN"
KUSN flipped to country after falling behind KKJO in the Top 40 battle. KUSN had moderate success here with the country format.
1979-1980 - KUSN - Soft Adult Contemporary
This was likely a temporary solution while the sale of the station was being considered.
1980-2013 - KGNM - Christian
Good News Ministries (GNM) bought the station in 1980, and flipped the format to religious. They began 24-hours operations in 1987. At some point, Good News Ministries filed KGNM under the control of Orama, Inc. The owners also signed on 91.1 KSJI in St. Joseph. In 2009, KGNM began simulcasting on K273BF, at 102.5 mHz in St. Joseph. Much of the weekday programming is local.
2013-current - KGNM - Sat. Classic Hits (Cumulus)
In March 2013, Good News moved its programming to 91.1 mHz. 1270 and 102.5 flipped to the Cumulus classic hits feed.
